Trauma Therapy

Do you feel hindered by events from your childhood?

Dealing with trauma from any phase of life is difficult. Maybe you feel helpless as your past experiences negatively impact your life everyday. You may feel that despite your best efforts, you struggle with setting boundaries and developing healthy coping mechanisms. You know how fulfilling your life could be but you don’t recognize this withdrawn or isolated version of yourself.

You want to be able to develop trust in your relationships and build confidence in yourself as you heal from traumatic events.

Let’s work together to help you reclaim your life.

When we struggle with trauma, it’s easy to blame ourselves. You may feel like you did something “wrong” or like you “should” have known or done something differently as you were growing up.

Please know this: your trauma is not a reflection of you. In therapy, we’ll work on compassionately acknowledging your struggles, accepting yourself, and regaining control of your life. From there, we’ll cultivate new ways for you to communicate and reconnect with the important people in your life.

Are you anxious or depressed all the time?

Dealing with your trauma alone can be confusing and challenging. If you are on this journey right now, therapy can be incredibly useful not only for support and education, but to feel confident in knowing you’re on the right path to healing your trauma.

As part of this work, you can learn to set aside past beliefs or rigid misconceptions and embrace new perspectives that celebrate who you are.

Trauma Therapy can help you:

  • Increase empathy and connection with yourself

  • Develop new ways to communicate with the important people in your life

  • Accept yourself for who you are

  • Process experiences from your childhood and the impact they have on your everyday life

  • Learn how to develop healthy coping mechanisms

My Approach to Trauma Therapy

I approach working with you in a non judgmental, collaborative and empathic way. We will replace the critical, judgmental voice with compassionate self talk to address dysfunctional patterns in your life. In therapy with me, we’ll work together to identify triggers and establish healthy ways to cope that help to reveal your authentic self.
